Big Green Egg Prices by Size: 2026 Complete Guide

What Does a Big Green Egg Cost in 2026?

A Big Green Egg costs between $500 and $3,500 depending on size, with the Large being the most popular model at around $1,300 to $1,500. At Lexington Billiards & Spas, we've been an authorized Big Green Egg dealer for years, and the number one question I hear in the showroom is "how much?" Here's the honest breakdown by size, what's included, and what you'll want to budget for accessories.

The prices below reflect 2026 authorized dealer pricing. Big Green Egg holds MAP (Minimum Advertised Price) across all dealers, which means you won't find a legitimate new EGG cheaper online than you will in our Lexington showroom. If someone's advertising below these numbers, they're either selling used, counterfeit, or bait-and-switching you with missing components.

Big Green Egg Prices by Size

SizePrice RangeCooking AreaGrid DiameterBest For
MiniMax$500 - $600133 sq in13 inTailgating, small patios, camping
Mini$350 - $45079 sq in10 inTabletop cooking, side dish station
Small$550 - $650133 sq in13 inCouples, apartment balconies
Medium$850 - $1,000177 sq in15 inSmall families (2-3 people)
Large$1,300 - $1,500262 sq in18.25 inMost families (4-6 people)
XLarge$2,100 - $2,400452 sq in24 inEntertainers, large families
2XLarge$3,000 - $3,500672 sq in29 inCaterers, serious pitmasters

The Large outsells every other size by a wide margin. I'd estimate 60-65% of the EGGs we move out of this showroom are Larges. It's big enough to smoke a full packer brisket or cook for a backyard party, but small enough to live on a standard patio. If you're buying your first EGG, start here.

What's Included with Every Big Green Egg?

Every new Big Green Egg comes with the ceramic cooker, a stainless steel cooking grid, a fire grate, a fire ring, a dual-function metal top (draft door), and a ceramic damper top. That's enough to get you grilling on day one.

What's not included, and this surprises people, is a nest or table to put it in. The EGG itself doesn't come with legs. You'll need one of these:

  • IntEGGrated Nest + Handler: $200 - $350 depending on size. This is the most popular option. Gives you a rolling cart with folding side shelves.
  • Modular Nest System: $150 - $250. A simple stand with casters.
  • EGG Frame: $400 - $600. A steel table frame that holds the EGG at counter height.
  • Custom Table: $800 - $2,000+. Wood or composite tables built specifically for the EGG.

I always tell customers to budget an extra $300 to $500 beyond the EGG price for a nest and your first round of accessories. That puts a realistic Large setup at $1,600 to $2,000 all-in.

EGGcessory Starter Kits

Big Green Egg offers starter kit bundles that save you 10-15% compared to buying pieces individually. For a Large, the most popular kit runs about $200 and includes:

  • convEGGtor (plate setter for indirect cooking)
  • Ash tool
  • Grid gripper
  • Internal temperature gauge upgrade

I recommend every single customer buy the convEGGtor from day one. Without it, you can't do indirect cooking, which means no smoking, no baking, no pizza. It's the single most important accessory.

What About the EGG Genius?

The EGG Genius is Big Green Egg's wifi-enabled temperature controller. It runs about $250 and lets you monitor and adjust your cook from your phone. For overnight brisket smokes or low-and-slow pork shoulders, it's a game changer. You can set your target temp, go to bed, and the fan system holds it steady all night. I don't consider it essential for beginners, but most serious cooks add one within the first year.

Which Size Should You Buy?

Here's what I tell people in the showroom after 50 years in retail:

Buy the Large if you're a typical family of 3-6, you entertain occasionally, and you want one cooker that does everything. This is the right answer for 80% of customers.

Buy the XLarge if you regularly cook for 8+ people, you want to smoke multiple racks of ribs at once, or you're the designated cookout host for your neighborhood. Plenty of folks in the Hamburg or Chevy Chase neighborhoods come in wanting the Large, then realize they're hosting UK game day cookouts for 15 people every fall Saturday and size up.

Buy the Medium if you're cooking for 1-2 people most of the time and space is tight. It's still a fantastic cooker.

Buy the MiniMax if you want portability. It's the same cooking area as the Small but designed to travel. I've sold dozens of these to UK tailgaters who haul them to Kroger Field every Saturday.

Why Buy from a Local Dealer?

Big Green Egg is only sold through authorized dealers. You won't find it at Home Depot or Lowe's, and you won't find it on Amazon. That's by design. When you buy from Lexington Billiards & Spas, you get:

  • A showroom where you can see every size side by side
  • Staff who actually cook on these things and can answer real questions
  • Local delivery (we don't ship ceramic on a freight truck and hope for the best)
  • Warranty support handled locally, not through a call center
  • Access to every EGGcessory and replacement part

We've been in Lexington since 1975. We're not going anywhere. When you need a new gasket in three years or a replacement fire ring in five, we'll be right here on Richmond Road.

The Bottom Line

A Big Green Egg Large with a nest and basic accessories runs about $1,800 to $2,000. That's more than a gas grill, but this isn't a gas grill. It's a cooker that does the work of a grill, smoker, oven, and pizza oven combined, and it lasts 20+ years with minimal maintenance. Per year of ownership, it's one of the best values in outdoor cooking. Come see them in person and I'll walk you through every size.
